Expect the grand 2009 Toyota Camry from our dealership!

The 2009 Toyota Camry has arrived. This is news we have to celebrate, not only because the Camry is the country’s best selling car, but also because it gets more stylish this year. It is the most aerodynamic Camry ever; so, you know the kind of feel you will have of the road.

The 2009 model of Toyota Camry is equipped with greater power on its engines, is more fuel efficient; is more spacious, and offers more transmission choices.

It comes on LE, SE and XLE trims. The base LE is given a 2.4-litre engine with an output of 158 horsepower and 161 lb ft torque. It comes with an optional engine –the DOHC, 3.5-litre V-6 engine with 268 horsepower and just 248 lb ft of torque. This is the standard configuration for all the other trims.

The choice of transmission is varied. You can choose between five-speed manual transmissions; an electronically-controlled five-speed automatic or a six-speed automatic transmission for the V6.

The Camry was rated one of the best family sedans in 2007 by AAA and Parents Magazine.

The Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius wins hands-down as the best-selling gas-electric hybrid in the United States and continues to be a benchmark model, the world over. Way ahead in the development of gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles, Toyota is already on its second generation of the Prius. This four-door hybrid offers buyers a solution to escalating fuel prices and environmental responsibility, as it continues to grow in demand with American consumers.

The Prius was introduced as a 2001 model; redesigned for 2004 and updated for 2006. For 2008, the new Prius gets options that include leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. For a shopper interested in a hybrid vehicle, the Prius is a comfortable car with adult-size back seats and lots of cargo space. It also gets aerodynamic and sleek exterior styling that distinguishes it from other vehicles.

The Toyota Prius comes in base and Touring trim levels, with a wide range of optional packages that cater to customer personalization. Standard features include a six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo; a tilting steering wheel, fabric upholstery; electric air conditioning; power accessories; remote keyless entry; cruise control; intermittent front and rear wipers; and 15-inch aluminum wheels.

The Prius is not an electric car that needs plugging-in. A small, highly efficient four-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline-fueled engine, is used in combination with two electric motors, and a gear-set that works as a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The gas engine delivers 76 horsepower and 82 pound-feet of torque, while the electric motors generate 67 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. A regenerative braking system converts energy into electricity, to charge the car's battery pack; the gasoline engine charges the battery as you drive. Under acceleration, both energy sources provide adequate power, but in stop-and-go traffic, the Prius often runs on battery power alone.

The 2008 Prius gets EPA ratings of 48/45 mpg (city/highway). The car is also certified as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV); and meets the Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV) standards, as well as zero evaporative emissions standards.

2008 Toyota Tundra

Toyota launched the 2008 redesigned Tundra pickup truck, with an eye on serious buyers in the big pickup segment, a move which more than doubled its market share. When the Tundra was launched in 2007, only the Tundra Regular Cab, with single-row seating was available. For 2008, Toyota has added some models to the Tundra line and priced the truck more competitively.

For 2008, the Double Cab and CrewMax, new Tundra Grade trim package offers fewer standard features at a lower price; the six-passenger Double Cab, starts at $24,715. The 2008 Tundra appeals to buyers both in terms of price, as well as value, at the low end and high end of the market. The Tundra is available in three body styles: two-door Regular cab; Double Cab with front-hinged, secondary rear side doors; and the four-door CrewMax. It also comes with three bed lengths and three different wheelbases.

Powering the Tundra is a 4.0-liter V6 engine used for work-truck duty. In addition there is an intermediate 4.7-liter V8 and a 5.7-liter V8 engine; standard transmission is a six-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard; four-wheel drive is optional. The 5.7-liter V8 engine is one of the most responsive powertrains in the big pickup segment. Payload capacity ranges from 1410 pounds to 2060 pounds, while towing capacity hits 10,800 pounds. Fuel economy rates at 13/17 mpg (city/highway).

Seating arrangements are available for two, three, five or six in the three trim levels; the 2008 Tundra incorporates 44 different build configurations. Base Tundra models are loaded with amenities, interior storage options, a tailgate and standard four-wheel disc brakes. Limited models have GPS-linked navigation with a backup camera and a nine-inch LCD screen for rear-seat entertainment.

Safety features include side-impact airbags, curtain-type head protection airbags, advanced anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and brake assist, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and a limited-slip differential. The Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup comparable in every way to trucks from close rivals GMC, Chevy, Ford, Dodge and Nissan. As a work truck Toyota Tundra delivers excellent payload and tow ratings, it's also powerful and comfortable.

New Owner Celebration Event at Toyota of Concord near Charlotte, NC

Nearly 40 new owners came to our July event. The New Owner Event is being held quarterly at our Toyota store. Folks braved the early evening heat and humidity on July 15th to join us for great food, drinks and chat.

Service Advisor and Event Organizer, Terry Sells, addressed the crowd letting them know more information about the service and maintenance of their new vehicles as well as, Warranty information. The purpose of this event is to give people another overview of vehicle care and operation that may have been overlooked when picking up their new vehicle. That first day of ownership is very exciting and most of us just want to get in and drive! Having an evening where a knowledgeable service representative is available to ask questions is proving to be a big hit with our customers.

After the presentation in the conference room guests were shown the service area where they will check their vehicles in when coming for maintenance or repair. In the service area, a Certified Technician demonstrated checking fluid levels on a new Camry. Other models were also available.
Tire Maintenance, Safety Features and Emergency procedures such as correct jump starting of a vehicle and changing of tires were also covered in the session.

Those in attendance stated in surveys completed after the event they found this to be very useful in knowing the dealership better as well as understanding their own vehicle. After and during the event drawings were held, gifts given out and in general a good time was had by all who attended. Many even wanted to know if they could come again and the answer is YES!
