Toyota 4Runner Named to List of Best Party Vehicles

2012 Toyota 4Runner
Be honest - is your favorite part of football season really the game itself, or the excuse it gives to have a party? If it's the party, you're in luck, because Kelley Blue Book just named the Toyota 4Runner to the list of 10 Best Tailgating Vehicles of 2012.

Kelley Blue Book called the 4Runner "the automotive equivalent of the tuxedo t-shirt" for its versatility as an off-road utility vehicle and an always-ready party machine. With an available sliding rear cargo deck and “Party Mode” sound equalizer that channels music to the liftgate speakers, the designers of the Toyota 4Runner definitely had tailgating in mind.

Other KBB favorite features include the rear window in the liftgate, allowing access in close quarters like a garage or tight parking space. The 40/20/40 split seat offers a multitude of cargo/seating arrangements and even reclines for maximum comfort. There is an optional third row available to expand the seating capacity to seven passengers.

The 2012 Toyota 4Runner is available in three trim levels, the SR5, Trail, and Limited. Standard equipment includes a 4.0-liter V6 engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, plus Hill Start Assist. Other standard tech features include SiriusXM satellite radio, a USB port with iPod connectivity, hands-free phone, trip computer and three auxiliary power outlets. 2012 Toyota The 2012 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine that pushes 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. of torque. EPA fuel economy ratings are 17/23 city/highway mpg in rear-wheel drive and 17/22 mpg in 4-wheel drive.

Graduate and Get Money Back on Selected Toyota and Scion Models

Toyota Scion of Concord is happy to announce that Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Motor sales have added the Prius c to the list of eligible vehicles in the College Grad Rebate Program.

The Prius c is the first hybrid option available in the program, which seeks to reward the hard work of recent college graduates and make the transition to the workforce smoother by offering $1000 new car rebates on any new Scion and select new Toyota models. Before the addition of the Prius c, eligible Toyotas included the Camry, Corolla, Matrix, RAV4, Tacoma, and Yaris.

According to Mike Groff, TFS Group Vice President of Sales, Product and Marketing, “The Prius c is taking off as one of the most popular vehicles among young adults, but more than that, it is a dependable and economical way for recent graduates to get to new jobs and start their careers. We hope this $1,000 rebate, which can be coupled with other incentives, helps make the dream of car ownership a little easier.”

The Toyota Prius family was recently named “Best Green Car to Buy 2012” by GreenCarReports.com. The letter “c” in the Prius c name stands for “city”, as it was developed to be an urban-friendly car. With its accessible price, fuel economy rating of 53 city mpg, and plentiful electronic features, the Prius c is the ideal car for the recent college grad.

To qualify for the $1000 rebate, buyers must meet certain degree and graduation requirements. These include, but are not limited to, graduating from a qualified institution (four-year college, university, registered nursing program, accredited graduate degree program, Toyota Technical Education Network, or approved automotive or electrical program) within the last two years, or in some cases, on track to graduate within the next six months.

Buyers will also show proof of present employment or a contract for future employment to begin within 120 days of purchase contract. Toyota Financial Services will determine sufficient income and credit history and will approve qualified applicants.

The College Rebate Program for Toyota vehicles ends January 2, 2013. The finance department at Toyota Scion of Concord near Charlotte will be happy to answer any questions about the program, and our expert sales staff will help you schedule a test drive of the Toyota Prius c or any other model that better suits your needs.

Scion FR-S One of Summer’s Hottest Cars

2013 Scion FR-S

In the years of the economic decline between 2008 and 2010, sales of small sports cars dropped by an average of 50% across the board. The Scion FR-S is staging a comeback for the segment as it becomes one of the fastest-selling cars of the season.

Marketed to buyers in the 20-30 age bracket, the Scion FR-S strives to deliver a fun driving experience, and was inspired by the Porsche Cayman. Both cars use “boxer” engines that achieve a lower center of gravity by orienting the pistons horizontally. At about half the price of the Cayman, the FR-S pushes 200 horsepower compared to the Cayman’s 265, and has a top speed of 137 mph and a zero-60 mph time of 6.2 seconds compared to the Caymans’ 5.5 seconds.

Many automakers are using flashy new sports cars as ways to bring attention to the rest of a model lineup, but sales of the FR-S indicate it is more than just an attention-getter. According to Edmunds.com, the Scion FR-S sits on dealer lots for only 11 days before sale, where the industry average is 57 days. This makes it one of the two fastest-selling cars that have been on the market for more than 2 months, and honor shared with the Subaru BRZ, which was developed on the same platform.

The Scion FR-S is described by Motor Trend reviewers as having “driving dynamics that are some of the best we’ve experienced, combined with an affordable price”, and Autoweek gave a simple endorsement of “Yes, you want it.” To decide for yourself, visit Toyota Scion of Concord for a test drive today. We have a full Toyota and Scion inventory, as well as many other quality used cars to choose from, conveniently located near Charlotte, NC.

Matthews NC Adult Daycare Winner in Toyota 100 Cars For Good

Toyota of Concord congratulates Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care, another Charlotte area winner in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good contest.

Blessed Assurance is a not-for-profit organization that cares for elderly or disabled adults who do not need 24-hour residential care, but cannot safely be left alone during the day. They provide skilled nursing care and health education, licensed rehabilitation services, recreational therapy, meals and nutritional counseling, family support groups, and the services of medical social workers. When necessary, they monitor health and hygiene needs, including bathing, grooming, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, medication administration, and many other specific needs.

The program benefits adults who are physically or cognitively impaired or otherwise need help to function independently in the community. The program helps such adults maintain a level of independence outside a nursing home, but still safely supervised. Blessed Assurance offers a community setting with social activities and peer support in a stimulating environment that helps to maintain cognitive function and prevent social isolation. It allows caregivers to work or otherwise leave the home during the day, lifting an economic and social burden for them as well.

For the contest, Toyota accepts thousands of applications from across the county, explaining who they serve, how they help, and how the organization would use a new vehicle. Qualifying groups include those who improve society through education, health and safety, animal welfare, and social services. Applications are reviewed by a judging panel of independent experts in philanthropy and service to narrow the list of organizations down to 500 finalists.

Final winners are chosen by public vote, so finalists work to raise awareness about the services they provide and how the community would benefit if they won a new vehicle from 100 Cars for Good. Each day for 100 days, five groups go up for vote, and one is announced as the winner of their choice of a new Toyota Highlander, Tundra, Camry Hybrid, Prius V or Sienna.

Toyota of Concord happily congratulates Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care on their well-deserved win in 100 Cars for Good, and encourages the community to support their efforts in any way you can.
