The All New Highlander Crossover, Revealed at the New York Auto Show

This week in New York City the most highly attended auto show in the United States is happening. With nearly every car manufacturer in attendance, it is difficult for vehicles to stand out.  This was not the case for the redesigned 2014 Toyota Highlander Crossover.

The new Highlander is 3 inches longer than the previous model, making it more comparable in size to other multi-passenger SUVs such as the Dodge Durango, Mazda CX-9 and Nissan Pathfinder.  The 2014 Highlander comfortable seats seven or eight people compared to six or seven in the previous year model.  Another added benefit of increasing the size of the Highlander is more storage space behind the third row seats, which Toyota says is 34% larger than previous models.

The Highlander will however keep a few things from the old model, including the standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with six speed automatic transmission. Also carrying over is the optional 3.5-liter V-6 engine with all-wheel-drive.

Unfortunately, the 2014 Highlander will not be released until early 2014.

If the 2014 Highlander Crossover sounds like a vehicle for you, make sure and check with the our staff here at Toyota Scion of Concord about when it will be headed to dealerships! Also, stop in or give us a call and ask about our full line of Toyota and Scion cars, trucks, and SUVs.

We hope to see you soon

Check Out Our Testimonial This Week

Chad Pfeiffer was exceptional.  I had stopped in originally 3 weeks earlier with my wife and 3 year old son and Chad was extremely patient and made us feel that he was truly there to help us.  When I returned weeks later he listened to my desires and showed me my options and never once rushed me. It was a great experience.- John

Paul Shaw is excellent! He helped us before with our Scions and helped again with the Corollas.  We will continue to visit Paul Shaw!- Brandi

Tonya at Toyota of Concord was wonderful to work with. She has lots of patience and expertise.  She kept me updated on the repairs, and even went the extra mile to test the battery in my key fob.  Also, one of your technicians took a quick look at my door for me.  This was because I had mentioned that two of my locks didn’t work.  I just wanted them to know it was okay to leave the car unlocked.  I didn’t expect them to check the locks for me, but I was so impressed that they did.  Tonya told me the exact part that was causing the problem in case I wanted to have it repaired at a later date.  This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had with dealership or repair shop.- Wendy

The 2013 Toyota Tacoma
In total there were 21 vehicle categories and only two for trucks, meaning that Toyota swept the truck categories with the Tacoma winning the compact pickup truck category, and the Tundra winning the category for full-size trucks. Both vehicles combine reliability and towing abilities, along with a number of options to customize your truck to fit your needs.

Customer Feedback

Our salesperson, CJ Shoemaker, provided us with a wonderful shopping experience.  He answered all of our questions and was knowledgeable as well as friendly.  When we test drove the Rav4, he made sure to point out features that we might not have noticed otherwise.  Buying a car nowadays is such a huge investment, and can be fraught with tension and anxiety, but he made it easy

Sporty New Scion FR-S Named Best Sports Car for the Money

The 2013 Scion FR-S, Toyota’s sporty 200 horsepower coupe, was named “Best Sports Car for the Money” by U.S. News & World Report. The annual award is based on a vehicles value, quality, and critical acclaim in 21 different categories. Toyota Scion of Concord is excited for the arrival of these fun and reliable sports cars.

The overall score for the FR-S, which was a 9.1/10, was based on six categories: Critics’ rating, performance, exterior, interior, safety, and reliability. Ultimately, the FR-S was given the title of “Best Sports Car for the Money” because it has the best combination of cost and positive reviews.

The FR-S comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and six speed transmission and what it lacks in horsepower in comparison to the Nissan 370Z and the Ford Mustang, it makes up for in handling and maneuverability. The FR-S also features better safety ratings than most vehicles in its class.

A Positive Customer Experience

Toyota of Concord has a wonderful asset in Jeffrey. He worked with me to find exactly the vehicle I wanted and provided a wonderful purchasing experience. We purchased a Sienna XLE and had a DVD player installed by a second party that was recommended by the dealership. In hindsight, I might have opted for the vehicle with a factory installed player as there are/were some drawbacks to the aftermarket unit, but that is in NO WAY a reflection of how well we were treated by your salesperson. As the need for a new vehicle arises, I will certainly go back to see Jeffrey again.
