Toyota Giving Back: 2013 Prius Plug-In Challenge

In light of recent allegations towards some automakers for overreaching fuel economy claims, Toyota, who has faced little if any scrutiny, is setting out to get the word out about their fuel-efficient and green Prius line while giving back. Taking place in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut is the 2013 Prius Plug-in Challenge.

Participants in the Prius Plug-in Challenge will be loaned a Prius Plug-in for 30 days, and will drive it for no less than 500 miles, or 75 per week. At the end of the thirty days, the team that achieves the best overall fuel economy will win the challenge and receive a $2,500 donation toward their organization. Second place in the challenge will receive a $1,000 donation, while third place gets $500.

The 2013 Prius Plug-in receives an estimated combined 95 MPGe or 50 MPG depending on if you use the electric or hybrid mode.

All of your service reps are great and were very attentive to me even though Tonya Cordrey was assigned to me that day. I was experiencing severe knee pain when I was there and they paid attention to me and made sure I had a comfortable place to sit to keep me off my feet as much as possible. Last week I happened to be at the dealership service center to get my 2012 Prius factory service done for 15K. I randomly took an appointment online with Rick Smith. Someone else came to attend me when I drove into the service area. Later it was transferred to Rick.

The very moment I introduced myself I started experiencing the good 'customer service' feeling. I could tell the difference between the two individuals right away and Rick was great greeting me, listening to couple of observations I had in the vehicle and documenting it and cross verifying the same with me before sending the car into the service area. He was so precise in understanding my issues and translating into machine language :-).

I must also Thank the mechanic who serviced my vehicle. Unfortunately they work behind the scene and I don't get a chance to thank them. Hence please pass on my appreciation to them as well. The after service experience with the vehicle was also great. I thought I am riding a newer vehicle. The steering was so smooth and controlled, the engine felt quieter, the break pedal was more responsive.
