2008 Highlander scores high on space and comfort!
The Toyota Highlander has been completely redesigned and re-engineered for 2008. The new version is bigger, roomier and more powerful.
The all-new Highlander is more passenger-friendly than all the seven early highlanders. The second row can slide forward and back, and the third-row seat changes to a space hospitable for children and capable of carrying adults. Getting in and out of the first two rows is easy. It has a wide aggressive stance with Macpherson struts in the front and a twist beam axle in the rear. Sixteen-inch steel wheels are standard with a choice of three different wheel covers. A few surprises await inside the new Scion xD. The rear seats split 60/40 and folds completely flat for a large cargo area. In addition, the rear seats can slide back and forth up to six inches for extra leg room or cargo room, and the rear seatbacks can recline up to ten degrees. The interior gauges have been moved to their rightful spot behind the steering wheel and the Pioneer 160W audio system has a built-in iPod integration so that your iPod can be controlled with the head unit. Feel - out of the box - in 2008 Scion xB!
It's large, quiet, roomy and less boxy. That's the Scion xB for you! The 2008 Scion xB is a bigger vehicle in every aspect. Wheelbase is four inches longer, while overall length has grown by a foot to 167.3 inches. The xB is nearly three inches wider for more elbow room and it tips the scales at a stout 3,020 pounds. The engine has grown from 1.5 liters to 2.4 liters and from 103 horsepower to 158 horsepower.
Four years after the initial introduction of the xB to the US market, Scion has completely redesigned the model. The clean utilitarian look of the original xB is replaced by a softer, less chiseled look with an exaggerated front overhang, bulbous fender flairs and wide C pillar. The interior has a more relaxed atmosphere and makes the driver and passengers feel more comfortable. The driver's seat is adjustable for height. There's a folding armrest on the right side of the driver's seat. You can fold the back seat almost flat for cargo. A tray under the rear seat cushion provides storage space for small items. The rear cargo floor is flush with the hatch opening for easy loading and unloading.
You can choose either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic with a manual mode. Both transmissions are well-matched to the 2.4 liter engine.
