Scion Celebrates 10 Years with Special Edition Models

In celebrating its 10^th year on the market, Scion is set to release five special edition models. The exclusive “Scion 10 Series”, named for its 10^th anniversary, will be available on the FR-S, tC, iQ, xB and xD. The announcement was made during the 2013 New York Auto Show, and the special edition Scion’s will hit dealership’s in June 2013.

The special edition models will all come in a unique Silver Ignition paint, with solar-powered illuminated shift knobs, LED locator badges that light up when the car is unlocked, silver seat belts and interior badges. In addition to these features, the xB, iD and iQ models will feature unique wheels with a graphite finish, and the FR-S has HID headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps, dual climate control and a push-button starter.

There will only be 10,000 units produced, most of which will be tC’s.

Sporty New Scion FR-S Named Best Sports Car for the Money

 The 2013 Scion FR-S, Toyota’s sporty 200 horsepower coupe, was named “Best Sports Car for the Money” by U.S. News & World Report. The annual award is based on a vehicles value, quality, and critical acclaim in 21 different categories. Toyota Scion of Concord is excited for the arrival of these fun and reliable sports cars.

The overall score for the FR-S, which was a 9.1/10, was based on six categories: Critics’ rating, performance, exterior, interior, safety, and reliability. Ultimately, the FR-S was given the title of “Best Sports Car for the Money” because it has the best combination of cost and positive reviews.

The FR-S comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and six speed transmission and what it lacks in horsepower in comparison to the Nissan 370Z and the Ford Mustang, it makes up for in handling and maneuverability. Car and Driver editors drove more than 15,000 total miles in every new 2013 model that would be available for under $80,000 in January 2013. The sporty little Scion FR-S is proud to take its place among the top 10, which also includes industry icons like the Audi A6, BMW 3-Series, and Porsche Boxster.

Car and Driver compared the communicative steering and chassis balance in the the FR-S to the Porsche Boxster, which makes the FR-S base price of $24,995-$26,265 an incredible bargain, at roughly half the price of the Porsche.

Toyota of Concord near Charlotte is excited to release details of the 2013 Toyota Rav4, recently unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Since its release in 1995, the Rav4 has been a staple of the Toyota line, constantly pushing the envelope and making advancements to the market segment they helped create. And for 2013, they have pulled out all the stops, adding a wide variety of features and enhancements to make the 2013 Rav4 the best and brightest model they have ever introduced.

2013 Toyota Yaris Offers New Audio and Safety Options

Toyota recently released the 2013 Toyota Yaris, available again in three-door or five-door hatchback models. However, the Tech Audio Package is now standard on all 2013 Yaris models. 

The 2013 Yaris keeps all the fun, dynamic, fuel-efficient qualities that made previous model years so successful. However, the Tech Audio Package adds upgraded music and connectivity that are sure to appeal to the latest generation of drivers. 

The six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo plays MP3/WMA CDs. The system provides sound enhancement for MP3s and the auxiliary jack allows connection of other musice devices. A USB port with iPod connectivity is also included with the package, as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio capabilities. Bluetooth connectivity allows for phonebook access, music streaming, and hands-free phone options.

The 2013 Toyota Yaris is available in three trim levels, all equipped with a 1.5-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder DOHC engine offering 106 hp and 103 lb.-ft. of torque. All models are offered with a four-speed electronic automatic transmission, with a five-speed manual transmission available on L and SE models.

Toyota Brands Sweep Consumer Reports Reliability Rankings

In another not surprising but still newsworthy report about reliable cars, Toyota brands took the top three spots in the Consumer Reports latest reliability survey, with Scion at number one, Toyota in second place, and Lexus in third.

The 2012 Annual Auto Survey conducted by Consumer Reports was based 800,000 responses from their subscribers about 1.2 million vehicles over the last year. Consumer Reports uses that feedback to predict the future performance of new cars by each brand currently on the market.

This is a repeat for the Scion brand, which also took the top spot in last year’s survey. However, Toyota moved up four places this year, taking the number two spot held by Lexus last year and bumping that brand to number three.

Toyota had 27 different models in the survey and of those, 16 earned the highest reliability ranking in their respective classes. Top finishers included the Toyota Camry hybrid, Venza, FJ Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra, as well as the Scion xD and Lexus RX. The Toyota Prius C hybrid took the top spot overall.

"We're pleased with the findings, which reflect actual customer experience, not just reviewer opinion. The results also show how challenging it is to meet ever-higher customer expectations of new technology and in-car connectivity," said Jim Lentz, chief executive of Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc.

2012 Toyota Camry Wins Back Top Spot, Releases New Sport Edition

While the Toyota Camry celebrates taking the top spot at the top-sellling vehicle in the country for the first half of 2012, prospective Camry buyers can celebrate by ordering the limited-time, special edition Toyota Camry SE Sport Limited.

Experian Automotive reported this week that the Camry reclaimed the best-selling title this year, selling 209,000 units, after slipping to number two last year amid recall issues and supply shortages caused by Japan’s tsunami.

This announcement came just after Toyota began a limited production of the Toyota Camry SE Sport Limited edition, which will only be built until early November, 2012.

The Camry SE Sport Limited adds 18-inch alloy wheels with a smoked finish, and eight-way power driver seat, power tilt/slide moonroof, and a 6.1-inch touch-screen monitor with navigation and Entune to the regular Camry SE trim. Features found in the regular SE trim, including enhanced suspension and steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power shifters, are also present in the SE Sport Limited.

The Toyota Camry SE Sport Limited is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine, delivering 178 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Available colors include Attitude Black, Barcelona Red, and Blizzard Pearl, all with a choice black or ash interior color.

Graduate and Get Money Back on Selected Toyota and Scion Models

Toyota Scion of Concord is happy to announce that Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Motor sales have added the Prius c to the list of eligible vehicles in the College Grad Rebate Program.

The Prius c is the first hybrid option available in the program, which seeks to reward the hard work of recent college graduates and make the transition to the workforce smoother by offering $1000 new car rebates on any new Scion and select new Toyota models. Before the addition of the Prius c, eligible Toyotas included the Camry, Corolla, Matrix, RAV4, Tacoma, and Yaris.

  

According to Mike Groff, TFS Group Vice President of Sales, Product and Marketing, “The Prius c is taking off as one of the most popular vehicles among young adults, but more than that, it is a dependable and economical way for recent graduates to get to new jobs and start their careers. We hope this $1,000 rebate, which can be coupled with other incentives, helps make the dream of car ownership a little easier.”

The Toyota Prius family was recently named “Best Green Car to Buy 2012” by GreenCarReports.com. The letter “c” in the Prius c name stands for “city”, as it was developed to be an urban-friendly car. To qualify for the $1000 rebate, buyers must meet certain degree and graduation requirements. These include, but are not limited to, graduating from a qualified institution (four-year college, university, registered nursing program, accredited graduate degree program, Toyota Technical Education Network, or approved automotive or electrical program) within the last two years, or in some cases, on track to graduate within the next six months.

Buyers will also show proof of present employment or a contract for future employment to begin within 120 days of purchase contract. Toyota Financial Services will determine sufficient income and credit history and will approve qualified applicants.

Feel - out of the box - in 2008 Scion xB!

It's large, quiet, roomy and less boxy. That's the Scion xB for you! The 2008 Scion xB is a bigger vehicle in every aspect. Wheelbase is four inches longer, while overall length has grown by a foot to 167.3 inches. The xB is nearly three inches wider for more elbow room and it tips the scales at a stout 3,020 pounds. The engine has grown from 1.5 liters to 2.4 liters and from 103 horsepower to 158 horsepower.

Four years after the initial introduction of the xB to the US market, Scion has completely redesigned the model. The clean utilitarian look of the original xB is replaced by a softer, less chiseled look with an exaggerated front overhang, bulbous fender flairs and wide C pillar. The interior has a more relaxed atmosphere and makes the driver and passengers feel more comfortable. The driver's seat is adjustable for height.
